The lightweight and modular Camera Cage for Sony FX3 offers the option of full cage protection or a lighter-weight half cage form suitable for gimbal use. This black aluminum cage maintains access to the camera’s controls and features a removable top plate that enables the use of the original XLR top handle or another handle. Use this cage to mount a variety of accessories using the top plate NATO rail, the cold shoe mounts, and the 1/4″-20 threads with locating pins.The Sony FX3 cage also features a quick release plate for use with Arca-style tripod heads and gimbal mounts. It can be used in both horizontal and vertical orientations.

General Characteristics:

  • Protective armor for Sony FX3: Minimizes wear and tear over time.This Full Camera Cage provides protective armor for the Sony FX3 Camera Body and allows you to easily mount many different accessories.
  • Mount Accessories: NATO Rail, Cold Shoe Receivers and 1/4″-20 threads with locating pins, the Full Cage features several 1/4”-20 threads with various locating pins, two cold shoe receivers, a NATO Rail for wooden and advanced side handles, as well as a rod attachment port for our single rod holders.
  • Shoot Vertically :Top Plate NATO connection for mounting side handles. The left side arm module can be removed to turn this full cage into a half cage. This offers greater flexibility for stripping the camera down in situations where weight is a concern such as when mounting the system on a gimbal.
  • XLR Handle: Fully supported via the removable top plate.The bottom plate of the cage also provides several mounting points for attaching your camera to various quick release plates and is compatible with the ARCA receiver of the RS2 mounting plate.
  • RS2 Ready: ARCA compatible bottom plate.

The included Quick Release Plate can be attached to the bottom of the cage to connect the system to our 15m LWS Baseplate Type IV. Both the optional Adjustable Top Handle and Rotatable Top Handle can be rotated and used as a side handle when shooting vertically. Shooting vertically is also supported via the Top Mounting Plate which doubles as a NATO Rail Mount for Side Handles to be mounted for vertical shooting needs. The Top Mounting Plate can also be removed independently of the other cage components, which allows you to easily mount the FX3’s original XLR Top Handle if needed. Various other side handles can be attached to the cage to provide many options for comfortably operating your camera.
